APGA OSUN STATE SHOWCASES REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENTS IN 2023

 


The All Progressives Grand Alliance in Osun State (APGA Osun) has unveiled its notable achievements for the year 2023, as announced by the State Chairman, Wole Adedoyin. The party, under his leadership, has demonstrated commendable progress and commitment towards enhancing its presence and effectiveness in the state.

 

INAUGURATION AND OUTREACH: Following the takeover after the congress on May 23rd, 2023, APGA Osun initiated official engagements by reaching out to key stakeholders. Letters were sent to the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Director of DSS, Osun State Commandant of the NSCDC, National Orientation Agency, and Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) to establish partnerships and collaboration for future electoral activities.

 

MEMBERSHIP AUDIT COMMITTEE: Recognizing the importance of a robust and inclusive membership base, the party constituted and approved the composition of the Membership Audit Committee to strengthen its structure and attract new members.

 

ONLINE PRESENCE: To enhance information dissemination, APGA Osun launched a mini-website at www.apgaosun.blogspot.com, providing a platform for members and the public to stay informed about party activities.

 

DRIVE PROJECT SUPPORT: In alignment with the vision of the National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, the party created a mini-website for the DRIVE project at www.projectdriveapga.blogspot.com, demonstrating its commitment to repositioning the party.

 

NEWSLETTER PUBLICATION: APGA Osun furthered its commitment to transparency and communication by publishing the first edition of its newsletter, "The Cockerel," available in both hardcopy and soft copy formats. SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT: Embracing modern communication channels, the party opened accounts on various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Threads, to reach a wider audience and connect with the public.

 

STATE WORKING COMMITTEE MEETINGS: APGA Osun held three State Working Committee Meetings in 2023 (17th June, 2023, October 2nd, 2023, and 12th November, 2023) to discuss important matters and make strategic decisions.

SEND FORTH CEREMONY: The party actively participated in the send-forth ceremony of the former National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of APGA, Deacon Samson Olalere, demonstrating solidarity with party leaders and members. It was held on Saturday July, 15, 2023 at APGA’s regional office located at No 37, Akunleyan Estate, Old Ife Road, Opposite Watershed Event Centre, Near Green Spring Hotel, Ibadan.

 

NATIONAL MEETING ATTENDANCE: On the 21st September, 2023, APGA Osun State Chairman, Wole Adedoyin, attended the 1st APGA State Chairmen meeting held at the National Secretariat of the Party in Abuja. Presided over by the National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, the meeting served as a platform for strategic discussions and collaboration among state chapters.

 

These accomplishments underscored APGA Osun's commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and effective governance, positioning the party as a formidable force in Osun State politics. The leadership remains dedicated to furthering these achievements and building a stronger foundation for the party's future endeavors.

 

 

Communiqué of the Third State Executive Council Meeting of APGA Osun

 

COMMUNIQUÉ FROM THE STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING OF THE ALL PROGRESSIVE GRAND ALLIANCE (APGA) OSUN STATE CHAPTER - NOVEMBER 2, 2023

 


Following a comprehensive discussion on vital matters related to both the party and the state, the Osun State Chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has officially concluded its state executive council meeting held on November 2, 2023, at the NUJ Press Centre in Osogbo. The meeting yielded the following resolutions:

 

1.      APGA Osun reaffirms its commitment to the welfare of Osun citizens, as evident in its press releases and official statements.

 

2.      APGA Osun commends the National Leader of the Party, His Excellency, Prof. Charles Soludo, the current Governor of Anambra State, for his significant contributions to the party's growth and development. The party acknowledges the governor’s exemplary leadership, vision, and commitment to good governance, which have notably enhanced APGA’s reputation and credibility. Governor Soludo’s dedication to serving the Anambra people, promoting transparency, and fostering economic growth sets a positive example for all APGA members and supporters nationwide.

 

3.      The party lauds APGA National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, for his remarkable leadership and vision. Commending the Chairman’s commitment to strengthening the party’s structures, expanding its reach, and formulating policies that promote national unity and development.

 

4.      APGA Osun urges Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa to fulfill his promise regarding the development of a fitting website, electronic membership, and apps for the party.

 

5.      APGA Osun calls on Governor Adeleke to prioritize youth employment and empowerment, emphasizing the critical need to address the escalating unemployment rates among Osun state youths.

 

6.      APGA acknowledges Governor Adeleke’s commitment to the development of Osun State, commending the strides made in other sectors. However, the party stresses that a strategic focus on job creation would significantly contribute to a more robust and prosperous Osun State.

 

7.      APGA Osun appeals to Governor Ademola Adeleke to ensure the organization of Local Government elections that are free, fair, and credible.

 

8.      The party also urges the governor to protect the lives and properties of non-Osun indigenes in the state.

 

9.      The party advises Governor Ademola Adeleke to suspend his re-election bid and focus on the governance of the state, as Governor Adeleke is yet to fulfill all his agenda promised to the people of the state during his campaign in 2022.

 

10.  The party also reiterates the fact that APGA is not just an Igbo Party but a national party with a strong presence and growing influence across Nigeria.

Communiqué of the Second State Executive Council Meeting of APGA Osun

 

COMMUNIQUÉ OF THE SECOND STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING OF APGA OSUN

 


The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA Osun) concluded its second state executive council meeting at the NUJ Press Centre, Osogbo, on October 2nd, 2023. 

 

After exhaustive discussions on party and state matters, the following resolutions were reached:

 

1. APGA Osun commended National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, for his transparent leadership and preparations for forthcoming Governorship Elections in states like Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa.

 

2. The party warmly embraced the electronic membership card initiative, database, mobile application, and ongoing website design, demonstrating Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa's commitment to elevating the party.

 

3. APGA Osun expressed confidence in the National Vice Chairman (Southwest), Alh. Suraj Olanrewaju, applauding his efforts in restructuring and repositioning the party in the Southwest region for future Elections.

 

4. APGA Osun advised Governor Ademola Adeleke to ensure transparency in the handling and distribution of palliative funds, rice, grains, and fertilizers provided by the Federal Government. These resources are meant to alleviate the impact of fuel subsidy removal on the people of the state.

 

5. The party tasked Governor Ademola Adeleke to promptly pay outstanding salaries and pensions owed to workers and retirees in the state, aiming to alleviate the hardships faced by all levels of workers and pensioners.

 

 6. APGA Osun urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to reposition the state's health sector for effective service delivery.

 

7. Osun APGA charged Governor Ademola Adeleke and security agencies to rein in non-state actors, combat hateful rhetoric, and protect all communities. 

The party calls on elected and appointed public leaders in the state  to uphold constitutional obligations, ensuring a peaceful resolution of all issues.

 

8. The party continued its membership recruitment drive, encouraging interested citizens in Osun to join and embrace the party's ideals.

 

9. APGA Osun is actively restructuring and revamping both local government and ward structures for enhanced effectiveness.
