SYNW Appoints Faozat Modupeola Kalejaiye As Lagos State Coordinator

 

SYNW APPOINTS FAOZAT MODUPEOLA KALEJAIYE AS LAGOS STATE COORDINATOR

 


 The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) has appointed Princess Faozat Modupeola Kalejaiye as its new Coordinator in Lagos State.

 

Adedoyin Wole, the National President of the Association made the disclosure in a statement in Ibadan.

 

According to the release, “Faozat’s appointment as Coordinator of the writers’ body in Lagos State is very important as she brings extensive experience and adds the necessary leadership and depth that will help us drive our short term goals of making Lagos State a reading state.

 

As SYNW Coordinator in Lagos State, Princess Faozat Modupeola Kalejaiye will oversee and coordinate the affairs of the Society, Eko Book Club and the campus branches of SYNW in Lagos State in line with the constitution of the Society.

 

Princess Faozat Modupeola Kalejaiye (née Olumegbon) was born in Lagos.She attended Fountain Primary School, Surulere and later went to Queen’s College, Yaba, Lagos and Caleb University,Imota, Lagos where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She is an Auditor by training and worked with a few firms, her auditing journey started with one of the big 4’s :Ernst and Young.

 

She is also a Poet, she believes poetry is an expression of feelings, emotions, life sorrows and life’s pleasures. Writing poems is one of her hobbies and that birthed the book she wrote Elan Vital (a collection of poems) which was launched in 2019 and approved by Lagos State Educational and Examination Board for JSS 3.

 

She is founder / Chief Executive of Modupe’s Kitchen ( An African/continental and exotic tropical drinks and desserts Cusine) enterprise. She believes that as the economy is shifting, you need to have legitimate and creative sources of extra income.

 

She is a member of Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), she is also a member of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry(LCCI), student member of Association of Chartered  Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

 

Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW), is an umbrella organisation that was founded to promote creative writing and literary arts among writers based in Nigeria between the ages of 10 and 40. It was founded in 2010 at the former house of the Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka at the University of Ibadan. It was formerly known as the World of Poets and Literary Society.

 

Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) is a member of the International Authors Forum (IAF). It has also collaborated with different international organizations like Alliance Francaise, Milton Society of Georgia (MSG), International Women Writing Guild (IWWG), 100 Thousand Poets for Change, Gibran National Museum (Lebanon) Woman Scream International Poetry and Arts Festival, and the International Human Rights Art Festival (IHRAF).

 

In 2019, Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) was duly acknowledged and mentioned in a book titled “TEEN LIVES AROUND THE WORLD: A GLOBAL ENCYCLOPEDIA (2 VOLUMES)” edited by Karen Wells. The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) was described as the only teen writers’ body in Nigeria. 

 

SYNW provides a platform for young writers to meet and collaborate, enhance and hone their writing skills. SYNW also publishes, promotes and markets the works of its members.

Oyo Writers Commend Makinde’s Leadership Style

 

OYO WRITERS COMMEND MAKINDE’S LEADERSHIP STYLE


 

A group of writers, Writers for Democratic Change (WDC) based in Oyo State has expressed support for the leadership style of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

The group also pledged its support for Gov. Seyi Makinde in his effort to reposition the state for more developmental purposes.

In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by its Coordinator, Mr. Wole Adedoyin, the group commended the unprecedented and unparalleled effort in the ongoing structural transformation of Oyo State.

Writers for Democratic Change (WDC) who described Gov. Seyi Makinde as “an exemplary and visionary leader”, added that the governor has shown by his words and actions that “Oyo State is a Pace Setter State”.

Reiterating their maximum support for Gov. Seyi Makinde and other candidates of the PDP, Mr. Wole Adedoyin stressed: “We are confident that with the ongoing and known track record of Gov. Seyi Makinde, Continuity, progress and prosperity is assured and guaranteed.

“We have put in place structures and mobilization strategies across some strategic local government areas of Oyo State to deliver Gov. Seyi Makinde’s party, the PDP to victory come 2023.

“We will be focusing our work at the grassroots level by sensitizing and mobilizing voters using literary activities, local markets, churches, households and booth canvassers etc. We will also enhance visibility of Gov. Seyi Makinde’s achievements through literary activities, social media, SMS, jingles, billboards and fliers.

“We hereby reiterate our resolve to offer ourselves to work alongside the PDP statutory structure in the state to ensure Gov. Seyi Makinde total victory at the polls”.

Oyo Writers declare support for Gov. Seyi Makinde’s second term Governorship ambition

 

OYO WRITERS DECLARE SUPPORT FOR GOV. SEYI MAKINDE’S SECOND TERM GOVERNORSHIP AMBITION


 

Writers in Oyo state under the aegis of the Writers for Democratic Change have declared their support for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Gov. Seyi Makinde ahead of the 2023 general election.

The group made its position known yesterday after critically analysing the capacity of all the gubernatorial candidates from the different political parties in the state.

Speaking with newsmen immediately after their meeting in Ibadan, Mr. Wole Adedoyin, the Coordinator of the group said Gov. Seyi Makinde has shown capacity and proven quality to govern the state for the next four years.

Wole Adedoyin pledged the collective support of WDC for Governor Seyi Makinde in his effort to position Oyo State as a viable and thriving state.

According to WDC, “We are all witnesses to the structural transformation of our State by Gov. Seyi Makinde and we urge the Governor to continue to do everything within the ambit of the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Oyo State to ensure that the lives and properties of the citizens of Oyo State continue to be protected at all costs

Writers for Democratic Change said their choice of Gov. Seyi Makinde is due to his verifiable capacity and outstanding works done in improving the health, education, agriculture, transportation, Energy, tourism, arts and culture, security sectors of the state. Especially making Oyo State, a health tourism site. Makinde has shown diligence in his work and has been consistent in his service to the state.

APPPS Inaugurates Voters League to enhance Osun State’s Democracy

 

APPPS INAUGURATES VOTERS LEAGUE TO ENHANCE OSUN STATE’S DEMOCRACY

 


The Association of Progressive Political Parties in Osun State (OSUN APPPS) has inaugurated Osun Voters League, a socio-political group aimed at increasing voters’ participation in electoral process in Osun State.

 

The group will be embarking on mass Mobilisation and Education of Osun state voters to know more about their electoral rights in order to enhance the state’s democracy.

 

Wole Adedoyin, the Coordinator of APPPS, disclosed this through a press statement on Monday in Osun state.

 

The Statement further said that the League would mobilise all its members using the ward, local government and State structures to support any of the State or national assembly candidates, irrespective of political parties that they are convinced can take Osun to the Promised Land.

 

According to the Statement, “Osun Voters League is a think-tank platform where electoral issues such as voter education, participation, Vote buying, electoral violence will be addressed. As the 2023 elections approach us, our mission is to play an active role in increasing participation in elections, especially among young people in Osun State.”

 

“Osun Voters League will also be working with various stakeholders including INEC, community-based organizations, religious institutions, youth led and women groups as well as the media to make it a formidable group.

 

Other aims of the group are to fashion out ways to erase barriers to greater political participation, increase people’s participation in the electoral process and make it more meaningful.”
